Madhya Pradesh CM Mohan Yadav inaugurates healthy food street ‘Prasadam’ at Ujjain | Bhopal News

UJJAIN: Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Sunday inaugurated the country’s first healthy and hygienic food street,’Prasadam‘, that will serve traditional healthy food and delicacies made of coarse grains at Mahakal Lok in Ujjain. Union health and family welfare minister Mansukh Mandaviya was also present on the occasion.
Built at a cost of Rs 175 lakh, Prasadam will have 17 shops that will offer dishes made from rajgira, sanwa, kuttu, yeast, dal-baffle and other famous traditional dishes of the state.
The food street will be fully operational from the first week of February and junk foods and plastic are prohibited in the premises. A total of 100 healthy and hygienic street food hubs will come up at different locations in the country.
At the inaugural event, the chief minister and Mandaviya enjoyed tea and different cuisines at Prasadam and interacted with the food joint operators. He also launched ‘Manhit’ App focused on mental health.
RO water will be used for cooking food in Prasadam and vendors will have to wear gloves, cap and apron. Premises will be a plastic free zone and it will be the responsibility of the shopkeepers to dispose of the garbage. Dishes made from rajgira, sanwa, kuttu, yeast, kangni, kodo, sama, bajra, gram and jowar among other grains will be served in Prasadam. The FSSAI will provide food handling training to vendors while the Food Safety on Wheels vehicle will come once a week to inspect the food and train vendors. TNN
